Halfway

"Halfway"  6 x 6 pastel on gatorboard  $100

Day 15— Halfway through the challenge. I was thinking of what to paint to commemorate
the occasion and this mornings half grapefruit seemed perfect.

I was trying to do this painting without blending so I used a rough textured board—
it will tear the skin off your fingers if you rub too much.

There are so many supports (surfaces) to paint pastel on, and each one gives a different look.
Maybe I will try this one again on another surface before the challenge is over.

  1. Gorgeous! The lush dark background caught my eye and the yellow contrast is perfection.Love pastels but haven't touched mine in quite a while....found them hard to travel with and expensive to frame. This simple piece may cure me. Due to shoulder replacement I am tackling this 30 in 30 with my off hand. Quite a few new discoveries this has brought. Meanwhile my treat today will be to sign up for your blog....happy day to you, you rodent chaser!

    1. Thank you Cindy. You are cranking out great work even with your shoulder surgery.

I signed up for your blog and snooped around and saw the polymer clay jewelry. Love it, I need to do this. I bought some a few years ago and made some buttons for hand knit items, then forgot about it.

Looks like you live near my sister in law in Vero. Next time I visit I will let you know.
