30* Paintings in 30 Days

Day 31— It's interesting to see these all together and realize I lean toward a cool palette
and those who know me are not surprised by the heavy use of purple.

What I  learned:

I like to paint fish, teacups, bunnies and cows. Paint what you love or you won't love to paint.
Retro kitchen equipment is a challenge and rewarding.
This was my first bouquet of flowers.
Experiment with different supports (surfaces).
The exposure brings surprising connections: new friends and old family.
Never post a negative comment about your own work.

* There are only 29 paintings here, one just didn't work.

  1. I suspect you are like me and a variety of subjects is what makes painting fun and interesting. It is a really lovely body of work. It was nice discovering your art.

    1. April I was just looking at your collage. I am slowly going through them, with a pot of tea (no fish)! I never know if people see when I respond to their comments. Can you let me know if you see this? I know you have made a few comments about my work and I try to thank people.

I also just found a cool chart — Look at Michele Clamps collage post it's in there.

Now on to the bigger work.... Be well, Cristine

  2. Gorgeous work! Isn't it nice seeing them all together? Your colors just glow! Do you do a lot of layering to get that effect?

    1. Thank you Ginny. I was able to have tea in each cup after I painted them. Now they will be returned to various girlfriends.

  5. Cris - Your paintings are great! You have such a nice variety of subjects. I LOVE the teacups! I have a huge collection of my grandmother's teacups but never thought to paint them. Nice job!

    1. Thanks Susan. I am glad the challenge is over, but I feel almost "gun-shy" doing something large and hopefully jury worthy.

  7. Great insights - your teacups are so perfectly oblique - and I agree with you on the negative comment on your own work, never! I think your 30 (29) collage shows masterful color mixing and tone. Great fun to look at! Congratulations!
